Five Random Things

Lori Rudolph, friend and fellow EHAG Halloween artist, tagged me to write five random things about myself. I've seen these posts on others' blogs, so I suppose it was just a matter of time, lol...(and lookout the rest of you, five of you are next, hehe!) So here goes, five Random things:

1. Although most of my work is Halloween and Fantasy, one of my first loves is portraiture, specifically, colored pencil portraits.

2. I knit. Nothing fancy, mostly scarves, shawls, afghans and lately felted purses.

3. Long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, in a moment of temporary insanity following a bad break-up, I joined the army for about ten minutes. The experience was pretty similar to that movie "Private Benjamin", but unlike the Goldie Hawn character, I had the good sense to get out. This whole episode generally shocks people who know me to be the total liberal/pacifist type now.

4. I have a serious CD buying jones. I justify my addiction by telling myself it's a business expense (can't work without music). :)

5. I've always wanted to live abroad, specifically a little cottage in the English or Irish countryside, and if I could afford it, probably would.

So - there you go, five random things. In turn, I'm tagging Jen, Chris, John, Lyndy and Melissa.

And please read on - yesterday's post was a heads up on some new work I'll be listing soon, so stay tuned.....

Hi Carolee, what a fun read...still love your "Private Benjamin" moment story, which you already know is one of my fave movies! '-)

You asked 4 it!

Hmmm lets see...

1) I think Michael Jackson is the greatest entertainer of ALL TIME and I'm his biggest fan!

2) I love rum and cokes with Captain Morgan spiced rum (w/lime)...fave cocktail.

3) My Mom is my best friend.

4) I have been drawing since I was 5 years old. I was challenged by a neighbor to copy a cartoon character on a dare at the age of ten, in less than 10 minutes made a perfect copy!

5) "Absolutely Fabulous" is my all time favorite TV show...close second is "Golden Girls!" I can watch them over and over and never get tired of them!!

Enjoy!

Chris :)

HI CAROLEE! When I was first tagged you were the first person I thought of, but I thought "Carolee is veryy busy right now, too busy for this kind of nonsense", and it looks like you were tagged anyway- oh well, I shouldn't think for other people! I also thought of Patty but was thinking the same for her- I'll skip the thinking next time.... So amd I tagged by you ? I can sure do 5 more "randoms" randoms are what Randoms do best! ????

Haha...I suspect a lot of EHAG artists are tagging each other. I don't know about anyone else, but I think once is enough - at least where I'm concerned. I'm just not all that interesting, lol. :)

Great read Carolee & Chris, love the English cottage, I kept thinking ME TOO, ME TOO!!! Chris, my mom was my best friend too. Carolee you forgot to link us. Something I'm working on (linking) & a great PR tool for one's Blog. It's a good thing!

MY 5 RANDOM THINGS:
1. My Christmas water color painting of a log cabin, snow topped mountains, snow tipped pine trees & reindeer was chosen in my elementary school as the 'Principle's Award Winning Number One' favorite art work of the year.

2. I started teaching piano at age eleven & skate boarded to my students houses with a briefcase filled with music books balanced on my head.

3. Charlton Heston was our High School graduation commencement speaker because I headed my senior class steering committee with my friend who's father's best friend was Charlton Heston & we begged Ben Hur himself. Very little begging, Moses AKA Chuck was thrilled.

4. Besides piano teaching, I did Paris Original runway modeling to pay my way through college. No, not in Paris, a term for high fashion five minute cat walks.

5. I was on the NBC reality TV show called Fantasy, hosted by Peter Marshall & Leslie Uggams where I won a Lynda Carter Wonder Woman Look Alike contest.

Remember if you keep getting tagged, at least your 'Random 5' is good to go again & again & again...

Bloggers Just Want To Have Fun, Lyndy

P.S. CAROLEE I'm also TAGGING YOU, so please add your RANDOM 5 to my Blogspot! LOL, TAG YOU'RE IT AGAIN!!!

THX for the sweet post Carolee, AND that's not how tagging works. Complete instructions:
*The INTERNET TAG GAME is a clever way to social network promotional (PR) links. It's a good thing!

*Remember if you keep getting tagged & you're very busy at least your RANDOM 5 are good to go again & again & again... BECAUSE this helps to promote you on Blogs & most importantly the GOOGLE search engines, etc...

So all you have to do is add your Random 5 to my Todaysgold Blogspot:
Lyndy Ward As I did because I was already Tagged too (by John) & as Chris did because he was already Tagged as well...

If you did not notice, your name was linked & linking means more fans your way, Lyndy

Thanks for the comments, all. :) The tagging thing is fun, but to be honest I'd feel a little self conscious doing it more than once, and really self conscious posting about myself on others' blogs. Trust me, I'm just not all that interesting, lol! Time for me to move on to other topics, like all the WORK I should be doing, haha....

Hugs,
~ Carolee
