A Victorian Tea Party

Yesterday found me taking a rare day off, as John and I ventured into Philadelphia for an old fashioned, Victorian themed tea party, hosted by daughter Courtney.

The party was held in a beautifully restored, early 20th century Philadlephia home, owned by Courtney's friend Sadie, all dressed up for the party here...

Courtney and her beau Robert looked just great, and so happy...

And I love the way this fellow was dressed...

Some photos of the lovely flowers and delicious party food....

French macarons (the lavender ones - ooh la la!)..

There were chicken salad sandwiches...

 And cucumber sandwiches...

And a table with beverages for the non tea drinkers. The bottle on the right, in the tub, is elderflower sparkling water. Oh my...nectar of the Gods!

Courtney even made homemade petit fours...

Sooooo many other goodies too (I was asked to bring sausage rolls, a nod to John's heritage, and favorite of Courtneys since childhood). Everything was just delightful, and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many of her friends.

Unfortunately, I'd left my camera at home in anticipation of my friend taking photos, but a last minute emergency left me without the means to photograph our wonderful afternoon. So the lovely photos shown here are courtesy of Courtney's friend, Brigette Indelicato, who was kind enough to share them.

And in classic "leave them wanting more" fashion, Courtney tells us she's already thinking about future teas - perhaps even a  "Mad Hatter's Tea"! Wouldn't that be just *magical*!?!

I can hardly wait!

Until then, it's back to the studio and back to work. Deadlines await...

Thanks as always for visiting, and for your lovely comments!
Until next time,
♥ Carolee
