Cross Eyed, But Happy...

I suppose I should be thankful that at 54 I still have the eyesight for these finely detailed pen and ink pieces...

Many, many hours of work went into this bentwood box, one of three I have on the work table this week, and the only one I'll be offering on Etsy (the other two will be traveling to the Ghoultide Gathering with me).

Every time I begin the fine line illustration process, I'm reminded of how much I adore doing detail, and one day hope to set aside the time for a large piece like this. :)

In the meantime, many other pieces are in progress too, for the show, and for Etsy, including some limited edition Halloween ornaments I hope to finish next week.

Welcoming Autumn!

Just popping in to share a peek at today's PFATT Marketplace offerings...

They can be displayed as they are, but there's also room at the bottom for personalization, which will only take a day, and is offered at no extra charge. :)  I have four of the black and two of the buttermilk finished, and am offering them at just $75 each - as always, on a first-come basis when the PFATT Marketplace updates at 10AM pacific/1PM eastern. :)

"Enchanted Letters"

It's that time again. :)

The EHAG Emporium doors have creaked open for the last-day-of-the month update. So many Halloween goodies waiting to be captured, including my own offering - an original, one of a kind stationery box, which doubles as a lap desk (for larger photos, please click)...

Hand painted in acrylics on a birch wood box, the piece measures 12" x 12" x 3 1/2", and is finished with a clear, acrylic varnish....

The almost glowing exterior features a witch immersed in her writing, candle and teapot within reach, as her cat and raven familiars look on.  The interior is decoupaged, and the envelope is aged and hand lettered (from "Celestia Pendragon" to "Lettie Spiderwort"), and sent "by owl's wing"...

"The Magical Pantry"

This is what I've been immersed in all week....
 A *magical* witch's pantry, full of herbs and potions, books of spells and charms, a copper cauldron, and more....

What fun this was to paint! Truly a labor of love, and one of those pieces I'm sorely tempted to keep. It's listed in the Etsy shop now, and I do hope it find a good home. :)

I'll be back very soon with new work, and an update on The Mice President, who is now home from the hospital and slowly recovering.

Hearts and Blessings

Just popping in to share the latest original, a whimsical little garden mouse, pouring heart shaped blessings of love on the flowers below...

This piece was a blessing to paint too, and a respite from the continued medical challenges we're facing with the Mice President (who is going on his fourth week in the hospital with lung problems).

It's listed in the Etsy shop, and I do hope it finds a good home. :)
