Well, the Mad Tea Party was (I mean IS!) soooooooo much fun, I just had to paint it....
These hand made wooden tea chests are one of my absolute favorite things to paint, but this is the very last one! The wonderful artisan who designed these is no longer making them. Needless to say, I wanted to make this last one truly special....
It took DAYS and DAYS to paint all the detail, and to be honest, I toyed with the idea of keeping it here (especially since I LOVE the Mad Tea Party theme)- but sell it I must....
It's listed now on eBay, with a buy it now option. :)
I'm still visiting all the Mad Tea Partiers, although at the rate I'm going, it may take the rest of the week, hehe! Many thanks to everyone who's dropped by my little party the last couple of days - I do hope to reciprocate!
That's about it for tonight...It's shaping up to be a busy week, so stay tuned for more wicked and whimsical art....
Until next time,
♥ Carolee
THat is absolutely darling! It's too bad that they won't be made anymore, but the Mad Tea Party on top sure is a perfect image for a tea box! :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful job, Carolee! I hope you find another source for these tea chests so you can continue to paint them.

Had to come over n see this one, Carolee.. just fabulous! It was fun to see the WIP on Facebook, too! It's easy to look at art, and not realize the hours that go into it - cause you make it look effortless. (Like, one big swipe of Carolee's magical brush!) lol
ReplyDeleteGoing to visit Tea Party-ers now..
hugs,
Brenda
I know what you mean about the hours and hours on an art piece! Gah, I wish I were more prolific, too! Your tea chest truly does like you've spent much time and love on it, I am sure someone will snag that lovely up! :)
ReplyDeleteCarolee! It's beautiful! Fun and functional too.
ReplyDeleteI've loved all the recent "Wonderland" themed posts, it was such a big part of my childhood. Sometimes, when I've had a hard day of grim reality, I like to come to your blog and look at all the beautiful art when I need a shot of nostalgia to take me back ... it always works :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you put so much detail into your work, it's what makes it so special. It must be so rewarding for you.
Carolee it is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteReally fantastic.
Love Renee xoxo
