Doo doo-doo do-do doooooooo.....

As I painted away, we apparently we had a brush with dangerous weather last night....

There I was, putting the finishing touches on hundreds of wooden beads (many necklaces in progress) and chatting on the phone with my niece, when the sky became as dark as night - we're talking DARK here, and all in about three minutes time. High winds, loud thunder and hail followed, and I ended the call to go shut down the computer. That accomplished, I returned to painting, barely noticing the scene outside, except to give a brief thought to the recent roof repair. The storm lasted only a short while, and the sun returned just as quickly as it had disappeared.

A short while later the phone rang, and it was my niece again, wondering if we were allright.....

Apparently the Phildalephia evening news reported a tornado had blown through our little town, tearing a few roofs off and doing serious damage to a nearby trailer park. All of this as I painted bats and cats and ghosts....

Gives a whole new meaning to the word "oblivious", doesn't it?

Look for one of the necklaces on eBay later this evening. ;)

LOVE that photo! How perfect! Tornadoes scare me to death. I adore a good thunderstorm, but tornadoes are a whole different story.
Looking forward to seeing your newest necklace creation....

Something like that happened to me last summer - I was doing yoga at home and was in such a state of pure bliss that I had no fear whatsoever when the skies turned black and green and the winds and hail started. Strange... Anyway, I just kept right on with the yoga because I knew deep down that nothing bad could happen when I felt this good. I heard the tornado go over the house. Pretty crazy.

PS. I recommend taking shelter btw, it was just one of those weird zen moments...

Carolee, go get a weather radio! I'm glad you escaped this weather event so I don't want you and your family at home (hubby, dog and cats) to get hurt in the future!

YIKES!

Good diversion! When I was little I would make myself go to sleep during storms I hated them so much. I'm still not crazy about them...I'd rather watch them on 'The Wizard of Oz'-great pic!

Hmm, Carolee, we had lightning and such in NYC, but NOTHING like that. Hmm, are you sure you didn't conjur some of that up with your Halloween mojo? :)

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about the destruction, glad to know you're ok.

I read the article on line this morning. It could have been much worse if it had been closer to town.
By the way, you are getting a new restaurant - Anita's at Doneckers is set to open next month. Check it out for me. I know the new owners.
