Mood Music :)

Just a quick post today, as I'm painting madly on two different commissions, and am FINALLY off to see the Harry Potter movie this evening (yay!)

The annual autumn-wishies hit full force this week, so I was feeling the need for a little mood music, and updated the playlist yet again...

If you're into autumn and Halloween (and really, who ISN'T?!) just scroll down to the purple playlist on the right, where you'll find some inspiring mystical tunes, followed by some Halloween stuff, ending with Christopher Walken's rendition of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven".

What kind of music puts YOU in the *spirit* of things?!

Wow, Carolee...you have some GREAT taste in music. I don't know of anyone personally who likes Blackmore's Night or has even heard of Medieval Babes! I also love Loreena McKennitt and "Season of the Witch" happens to be my favorite Donovan song.

What music gets me in the "Halloween" kind of spirit...definitely the Bauhaus - especially "Bela Legosi's Dead" - in its glorious entirety. I also love a neo-folky singer-songwriter named Marissa Nadler. There is something both gothic and melancholy about her music. She actually see Edgar Allen Poe's poem "Annabel Lee" to music and it's so hauntingly beautiful. She is one of my ultimate favorites. :)

Thanks for sharing the playlist, Carolee. I'm definitely hitting the palpable-yearning-for-fall stage of year myself. Stevie Nick's "Crystal" is also a good one. Something about that song just sounds like crisp air and bright leaves to me...though part of that is probably because it's on the soundtrack for Practical Magic, a movie I make a point of watching every October :-)

Thanks for the suggestions - just added a couple of them to the playlist. :) Unfortunately Playlist.com doesn't have some of the lesser known artists....(I'd LOVE to hear Annabel Lee set to music!)

Genevieve, yes - I've read all the HP books - LOVED them! :)

I hope this link works...it's a live version of Annabelle Lee by Marissa Nadler. The picture is AWFUL, but the sound is perfect. I hope you enjoy it - the music at least.

Do let me know what you think!

Sincerely, Theresa
